Spectrum

Spectrum is an exploration of the creative process, consisting of seven soundscapes and seven line drawings.

Each soundscape was inspired by a colour in the visible spectrum. I then proceeded to translate each of the compositions into drawings, by listening back to each piece as I drew. My intention was to visually represent the respective sounds and emotions that were triggered by each colour.

The project was exhibited in London in April 2014. During the exhibition each drawing will come with a unique QR code, so that when scanned by a smart phone the viewer will be taken to a Soundcloud page that plays the respective composition.

Spectrum invites the viewer to this translation of my audible work into visual material to engage both the optical and auditive senses.
